The NPHC, or the Naval Pirate Hunting Corps, is a military division of the Royal Navy. They work for the Earl of Wax as pirate hunters, with their goal being to rid Candle Cove of all piracy.
Appearance[]
They are represented by tiny models attached to the ship, and thus rarely ever move. Anytime one of them needs to move, a cheap puppet made from pipe-cleaners and cloth is used. There are rarely close-ups of the crewmen.
Their ship, however, is a high quality model ship. This model was owned by Jeremy Kirby, and borrowed by Mary Prescott to use in the show.
Notable Episodes[]
- In "A Ship on the Horizon", the NPHC is sent by the Earl of Wax to catch the Laughingstock crew. During the battle, Janice falls off the ship and washes ashore in the Abyssal Kingdom.
- In "A New Route", the Earl of Wax orders the NPHC to barricade a route that the Laughingstock crew was planning to take. As a result, they are forced to take a new route which is very close to the Skin-Taker's hideout.
- In "Milo", the NPHC attacks the Jolly Hounds ship, and easily bests them. The Jolly Hounds captain, Milo, comes to the Laughingstock crew for help, and together they defeat the NPHC.
Trivia[]
- The NPHC once had far more members, before they tried to invade the Cutlass Islands to rid it of pirates. But this attack failed as they were greatly outnumbered, and their numbers were drastically reduced.
- Sometime after Milo left his previous crew, the Jolly Hounds were attacked by NPHC again. Without help from the Laughingstock crew, the Jolly Hounds' ship was sunk, and the surviving crew were left stranded on an island.
