Thomas Thrives (1931-1987) was the executive producer and lead designer of the original Candle Cove TV Show.

Biography

He created the show from an idea in 1966 while at the University of Ohio, in an attempt to discover the artistic possibilities puppetry had. By the end of the year, the focus become for a children's television program. He funded most of the production, but did not have a lot of money to give. The set was designed and built by him and Jeremy Laberge, between 1968 and 1969. As the show progressed, he became less and less involved. He later developed a severe anxiety disorder and agoraphobia.

After his death in 1987, he passed all the rights of the Candle Cove TV show to his collaborators Mary Prescott and Caroline Barker.
